Taste Paradise by Paradise Group that founder Eldwin Chua opened in January 2006 in the centre of Chinatown did so to much anticipation. Radically different from its sister restaurant, Taste Paradise is a contemporary Chinese restaurant with exquisite Cantonese fare served with individual style.
The restaurant, taking up two shophouse units, is swathed in muted earth tones and is modern in feel. The front of the restaurant is given over to rectangular tables while the more Chinese-style round tables can be found as you walk deeper into the restaurant. The use of drapes give the restaurant a cosy and intimate feel that’s different from your regular buzzy Chinese dining halls.

The Seafood Paradise at Defu Lane had humble beginnings as a 25-seater zi char stall in 2002 when young and enterprising Eldwin Chua started offering a menu of well-executed original dishes to entice diners to an admittedly out of the way location.
Despite the humble surroundings, Eldwin believes in providing brilliant homemade dishes based on quality ingredients. With word of mouth and media attention, within three years, Seafood Paradise at Defu Lane reached the point where expansion was necessary. Eldwin’s good food with quality ingredients has turned Seafood Paradise into destination dining, despite its inaccessible location.
