Dubbed ‘Chinese Cuisine with a Difference’, Taste Paradise has gained a whole different set of fans with their own signature items.

The double-boiled shark’s fin in traditional Beijing broth served in a Japanese stone pot accompanied by a bacon-onion roll was one of the restaurant’s specialities and created to be a best-seller from the beginning. With the quality of ingredients and a serving vessel that would keep the soup hot for 20 minutes, ensuring that the last sip remains as delicious as the first.

Everyone’s favourite fish – cod – is soy-baked here and served with a sweet creamy sauce accented by tobiko and ebiko for texture. There is also a selection of live seafood such as Australian lobster and oyster that patrons can have sashimi style, baked in superior stock and for a different experience, baked with cheese.

The kitchen also does fantastic meat dishes such as the lamb rack served in its reduction, smoked duck breast with pan-seared foie gras with lemon salt, both of which feature on the new menu at Taste Paradise moving forward.

The founder has also put his own spin on the Singapore iconic chilli crab by using various spiced powder together with dried shrimps and shallot. In addition to the seafood stars on the menu, the honey-pepper pork ribs are stalwarts, having been there since the beginning and the deep-fried homemade beancurd with dark gravy with seafood served in a mini wok over a warmer is also a stayer.
